November 2019

The November issue of Sloane Square magazine devotes a whole page to Glass Door in their community news section. Glass Door is also included in a story on The Chelsea Awards winners.

The full-page article celebrates this year's Sleep Out with comments from Chief Operating Officer, Lucy Abraham, on support for Glass Door amongst the local community. Lucy says:

The support of many local individuals and businesses has allowed us to grow to meet the rising demand for our emergency shelters and support programmes.

Lucy also suggests how readers might respond to homelessness when they see someone on the street. She says:

Our top tip is to remember that kindness goes a long way. Stop and have a chat with someone you think might be homeless.

The Chelsea Awards

The announcement that Glass Door won the Community Collaboration prize at the Chelsea Awards also features in this month's Sloane Square magazine with a picture of staff accepting the award.

The magazine explains why Glass Door won the award this year:

This wonderful charity helps provide shelter and support to those affected by homelessness across South-west London. Its brilliant annual Sleep Out in Duke of York Square sees the community join forces to raise hundreds to thousands of pounds to fund night shelters throughout the winter.
