We are looking for  volunteers to support our casework team working at our partner drop-in at Chelsea Methodist Church.


Our casework team offer advice and support to homeless men and women in our five partner drop-in centres across South West London. Demand for appointments is always high, and offering guests a warm welcome and managing the lists in an efficient manner is essential.


We are looking for confident and empathetic people to join our team of volunteers. Come and be part of something special and help us to relieve poverty amongst street homeless people of West London.

Outline of key tasks:

  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly manner;
  • Establish whether each guest who wishes to register for a casework appointment is a new or existing guest;
  • For existing guests, add the guest to the list to see the relevant caseworker;
  • For new guests, triage to establish the primary needs of the guest in order to register them with an appropriate caseworker (for example, an employment specialist or an immigration specialist.);
  • Allocate an appointment time to each guest, ensuring they are kept abreast of any significant delays to their appointment time;
  • Manage the casework list system efficiently; and
  • Advise any guests who arrive after a cut-off time to make an appointment directly with the caseworker via the Glass Door office number.
