On 19th September I will be cycling the 85km to Brighton to help individuals in our community find shelter and support when they need it most.

Glassdoor is a wonderful charity that coordinates the UK’s largest network of open-access services for people affected by homelessness. Unlike many other homeless charities, Glassdoor helps the same individuals daily and in 2019-20, about 170 individuals slept in a Glass Door shelter every night, making Glass Door the largest emergency winter night shelter network in the country.

Glass Door is able to do this thanks to partnerships with churches across West and South West London including St Barnabas Clapham Common. This provides the individuals with a degree of stability and an ongoing and valuable daily support at a vulnerable chapter of their lives and thereby helping them find a route out of homelessness.

I am doing the easy part - cycling in (hopefully) sunny weather through Sussex on a lovely route. I am asking you to do the hard part and dig deep so that they are able to help countless more vulnerable people this coming winter.

Many thanks,

Michael Burton
