On 4 October 2019, I will be joining Glass Door Homeless Charity's Sleep Out in the Square to bring shelter and support to men and women affected by homelessness. Last year, tucked up in my sleeping bag under the tree above and with your generosity, I raised over £1000. I'd really like to achieve even more this year because the need has grown and with the potential upheaval caused by all the political unknowns, it is most likely to worsen. Having now stabilised my own family after a couple of years of extraordinary turmoil, we feel blessed to have health, livelihoods and homes. This feels but a small thing to do to help others access these basic needs for life and self-esteem.

I'm raising money for Glass Door because I know they are doing good work to support and shelter those in our community who are at an absolute crisis point. They won a major Charity award last year for the quality of their charity organisation and impact (Everyday Impact - Long Term Enterprise Award - Social Change Awards) and have been shortlisted for a number of further awards during the year for enterprise and persistence.
People may think that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is an area of unparalleled affluence; it is. But it also has one of the highest levels of homelessness, 1 in 29 people, in the UK - not just London. Glass Door welcomes everyone as their guest, giving them some stability before helping them make the necessary steps move off the streets for good. They open their doors all winter, every night welcoming about 130 homeless men and women with a hot meal and a safe place for them to sleep.
Please donate anything you can. Together, we can to provide shelter and support to someone who has no where else to turn.

Please share with family and friends on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Twitter - and beyond - so I can reach my target, and together we can bring more people in off the streets.
Thank you!
