Blog Announcing our second Women’s Services Report Supporting women experiencing homelessness, 2024-25 A report highlighting our gender-informed services and spaces for women. At Glass Door Homeless Charity, holding space for women and delivering services with a gender-informed approach is crucial to supporting women on their route out of homelessness. Our 2023-24 Winter Night Shelter season saw the very first Women’s Shelter, and we ran it successfully for the second year running last winter. The demand for spaces in the shelter was consistently high, mirroring the increasing need for gender-specific support. From our Women’s Shelter stemmed a weekly drop-in casework service for our women guests who preferred a 1-to-1 service in a single gender space. In 2024-25 we supported 693 women through our casework service, and 753 women overall across our services. This is the second time we’ve published a Women’s Services Report to spotlight the importance of our women’s spaces and services. It reflects on the experiences of, and challenges faced by, our women guests and caseworkers, and celebrates the positive outcomes of the hard work they achieved together.
