Get involved Share your lived experience Lived Experience Group What is the Lived Experience Group? The Lived Experience Group ensures our services are informed by the insights of people with lived experience of homelessness. We believe it's important that people who are, or have been, homeless, are involved in decision making and influence our work. The group is friendly, non-judgmental and embraces all experiences of homelessness. How does the group work? The group meets five times per year (in-person at our London office and remotely). We ask for the group's feedback on our current services to make improvements, as well as future plans, and longer-term strategy. The group also contributes to other areas of our work such as policy, events and communications. The group is facilitated and supported by Glass Door staff, but members all have lived experience of homelessness. You don't need to have experienced a particular type of homelessness, for example it could be rough sleeping, sofa surfing or temporary accommodation. How will I make a difference? The experience that you will bring is hugely valuable. You will be making a positive impact on the lives of people experiencing homelessness by having an influence on our work and helping us to find solutions that improve services. You may be currently homeless or you may have been homeless in the past. You don't need to have accessed Glass Door services, or be familiar with our work before you join the group. You don’t need any particular knowledge, skills or equipment, just a willingness to attend meetings and share your thoughts and ideas with us. How can I sign up? We believe everyone has knowledge to share and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in joining Glass Door’s Lived Experience Group. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have not used Glass Door services.
