Blog Our Film: A Safe Home for Every Woman We’d like to share something really special with you – a film inspired by the stories of women we supported this year, as told by three of our Caseworkers. Each of their beautifully illustrated stories spotlights the challenges and complexities of women’s homelessness, and just how crucial inclusive services like our Women’s Night Shelter and Women’s Drop-in are in helping women guests feel seen, heard and understood. Watch the short film below. These are just three stories – but thanks to generous supporters like you, Glass Door Homeless Charity helped 753 women last year. Each one of them has their own unique story to tell and all have hope for a brighter future. Devastatingly, thousands more women are facing homelessness in London. No home, no safety, no community. With your support, we can provide emergency shelter for those who need it most and offer expert advice & advocacy to help people leave homelessness behind – for good. Every woman deserves a safe home. We’d love it if you could share our film with your friends, family and colleagues, so they too can see the realities of women’s experiences of homelessness in London and the impact that their support could have. Together, we can do more than offer shelter to a woman – we can give her the chance to rewrite her story. Watch the film on YouTube We were very lucky to work with Sue Dray, an incredibly talented illustrator on this film, who helped us sensitively bring the stories of our women guests to life while protecting their identities. We are also extremely grateful to our filmmakers, Daniel Götz, Fredrik Gustafsson and Kush Gupta for creating our beautiful film. *These stories are inspired by women we helped, and details have been changed or anonymised to protect their identities.
