Consider volunteering with the organisations we work with, listed below.

Ace of Clubs

Our partner Ace of Clubs is looking for volunteers! They are providing a takeaway food service that caters for between 120-180 people daily, as well as laundry services for guests.

Volunteers prepare food and takeaway bags, serve food to guests, help manage the flow of guests, respond to queries, and help tidy up. Volunteers may also be able to assist in the garden, the food storeroom or the laundry. They're also keen to hear from volunteers with experience of graphic design.

They need volunteers available at least one day per week (Monday to Friday) from 9.30am to 3pm, for a minimum of four months. This could be a different day each week.

If you are interested please email Charlie at Ace of Clubs with your availability [email protected]

Caritas Westminster

City Harvest London

City Harvest London distributes surplus food to Glass Door and many other charitable organisations around London.

As of June 2020, they are recruiting volunteers to help ensure London's most vulnerable people receive the food they need.

For more information on how to get involved please visit www.cityharvest.org.uk/volunteer or contact the team at [email protected].

Refettorio Felix

Glass Door partners with Refettorio Felix at St Cuthbert's to provide daytime services for people affected by homelessness. People can find support to help them out of homelessness from Glass Door caseworkers, as well as takeaway food.

Refettorio Felix is looking for volunteers to support its indoor service, serving a restaurant quality, 3-course meal to the most vulnerable and isolated in our community. You could help with table service, packing up takeaway food or cooking.

Visit their website to find out more and email [email protected] if you're interested in applying.

Refugees at Home

Glass Door refers appropriate guests to Refugees at Home, a UK charity that connects those with a spare room in their home to refugees and asylum seekers in need of somewhere to stay. See their website to find out more about becoming a host

Showerbox

Showerbox London offers hot showers to those who need it at St Gile's in the Fields on Tottenham Court Road. One man who took a shower there this May had not had a shower since December 2019.

They are looking for volunteer drivers to tow the trailer using the Showerbox vehicle from 10am to 3pm on Saturdays on an ad-hoc basis.

Contact [email protected] to find out more.

The Hygiene Hub

The Crisis Hygiene Hub is run by the London Jesus Centre and offers free showers, laundry and clothing services to guests referred by the Westminster outreach team.

They need volunteers to help run their services in Westminster. Shifts during the day from Monday to Friday.
