As of June 2021, our hostels closed. Our emergency shelter services will reopen in the Autumn.
This winter, Glass Door has paused our emergency church-based shelter service. New government guidelines advise against rotating shelters, which is the model used by Glass Door in previous winters.
Instead, we launched a new service on 16 November to provide individual rooms in hostel-like accommodations for those in need of a safe place to sleep. Now, up to 101 guests can now find a safe place to stay 24 hours a day, seven days a week with all meals provided.
We are working with a number of partners to help identify individuals who would be suitable for this service.
When the waiting list is open, individuals in need of support can access this service directly by attending a partner drop-in and speak to a Glass Door caseworker.
Spaces are limited and not everyone will be suitable for this service.
Those in need of a hot meal can join our dinner service and access support through partner day centres.
