In winter 2021-2022, Glass Door will provide 55 individual rooms in a hostel-like accommodation for those in need of a safe place to sleep. Guests will be able to find a safe place to stay 24 hours a day, seven days a week with all meals provided. Caseworkers are on-hand to help guests find a route beyond homelessness.
We will not accept any direct referrals from external agencies for the hostel service this year.
Assessments have not yet begun. When they do, anyone looking for a space in the hostel will need to speak to a Glass Door caseworker at partnering drop-in day service. Caseworkers will perform an assessment to determine suitability.
Spaces are limited and not everyone will be suitable for this service.
For individuals in exceptional circumstances with vulnerabilities, we can book an appointment over the phone for them to see a caseworker.
Glass Door is also hoping to provide shelter spaces in our partner churches. We are having conversations with local councils, and more information will be forthcoming shortly on this service.
