About us About Glass Door What we do Our vision is a future where no one experiences homelessness in London. We offer advice, shelter and support with our community partners, helping people build a route out of homelessness. Based in London, Glass Door operates open access services for people affected by homelessness. Open access means that anyone experiencing or at risk of homelessness can turn to Glass Door regardless of who they are or where they are from. Advice and Support Year-round, people find advice and support to end their homelessness through trained caseworkers based at six partnering day centres across West and South West London. If you need advice or support from a caseworker, go here. Have a look at our short film to find out more about how our caseworkers support people out of homelessness. Shelter Our Winter Night Shelters are now closed until late 2026. Each winter, we run three night shelter circuits, serving approximately 105 guests (35 in each circuit) each night in Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Wandsworth. Our shelters are rotating shelters with seven venues creating the circuit, one for each night of the week. Check out our film about Glass Door night shelters, which brings together members of the Glass Door team and some of our incredible volunteers to offer a sneak peek into our shelters. What others have said: Homeless people have stories to share and value to give society. Glass Door helps them create a life, not just an existence. - Colin Firth photo credit: Gage Skidmore The difference for me about this charity is the fact their doors are open to anyone, regardless of where they’re from or why they’re there. It’s a fabulous example of a community joining together and supporting those in a vulnerable chapter of their lives, giving them a route out of homelessness. - Hugh Pym, BBC Broadcaster and Glass Door Volunteer I was able to experience first-hand the excellent work of Glass Door.... There was a great atmosphere of friendship and welcome. Most of all there was a tangible sense of our shared humanity and a desire to be there with each other and for each other. - Bishop John Wilson, Archbishop of Southwark Awards We are proud to have received several awards, including the RBKC Mayor's awards 2022 (winner of the Local Community Organisation category), the Charity Times Awards 2020 (PR Team of the Year Award Winner and shortlisted for Charity of the Year and Rising Leader of the Year for CEO Lucy Abraham), the Christian Funders Forum (Best Housing Project Silver Winner 2018), Directory of Social Change (winner of the 2018 Impact award), The Chelsea Awards (winner of the 2019 community collaboration award), Charity Today (Highly Commended for 2019 Community Impact) and Homeless Link Excellence Awards 2019 (highly commended for excellence in collaboration & partnership working) and 2020 (Highly Commended, "Jacqui McCluskey communicating for change award").
